Lou Lenzi is an Adjunct Professor of Practice in Human-Centered Computing at Indiana University Indianapolis' Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. After a distinguished 36-year career as an industrial design executive at companies including IBM, Thomson/RCA, and GE, he transitioned to academia where he focuses on human-computer interaction theory and IoT applications.
His research bridges physical product design with digital interfaces, particularly exploring how tangible products can integrate online technology. He founded the Industry Lecture Series connecting students with professionals across logistics, agriculture, and government sectors. Lenzi represents IU at the Indiana IoT Lab innovation space featuring advanced prototyping tools.
Honors include being named one of the top 50 industrial designers of the last half-century by IDSA. He teaches courses on Internet of Things Interface Design for Business Innovation and supervises independent studies in HCI.
