David Perry

David Perry is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Media Arts and Science department at the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, Indiana University. He holds a B.S. in Media Arts and Science from IU Indianapolis (2016). His teaching focuses on 2D animation, narrative archetypes, and industry practices, including portfolio development and job-seeking strategies. Beyond academia, Perry collaborates with major studios like Disney, Netflix, and Nickelodeon as a series concept developer and visual artist.

Research interests span series development, character design, behavioral psychology, and existential philosophy. He teaches courses such as NEWM-N 238 (2D Animation) and NEWM-N 438 (Advanced 2D Animation). Perry’s professional work includes illustrating the 2018 graphic novel 'Aw, Nuts!' by Max Beaudry, blending storytelling with visual creativity.
