Lorena Ruci

Lorena Ruci is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Carleton University and a Psychology Lecturer at the University of Ottawa. She is a registered psychologist in Ontario and Alberta, providing clinical services at the Sport Medicine Clinic, Carleton University, and through the Canadian Centre for Mental Health in Sport. Her work integrates clinical practice with academic teaching and research, focusing on mental health challenges in high-performance athletes and the general population.

She advocates for the researcher-practitioner model and works to reduce mental health stigma through evidence-based interventions.

She teaches undergraduate psychology courses including PSY 1101 (Foundations), PSY 1102 (Applications), PSY 3303 (Personality), and PSY 3107 (Psychopathology) at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes applied knowledge and real-world relevance.

Lorena Ruci has coordinated and facilitated concussion support groups at Carleton University for the past three years, demonstrating her commitment to community-based mental health support. She provides in-person and virtual psychological services across Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, and New Brunswick, and is a BlueCross provider with direct billing capabilities for RCMP, VAC, CAF, and IFHP programs.
