Liz Woolley is the Faculty Academic Support Lead for the School of Education and School of Social Sciences and Law at the University of Sunderland. She teaches on the BA (Hons) Community and Youth Work Studies program. Her role focuses on improving student retention and continuation through strategic academic support, emphasizing collaboration and social justice principles. She holds an MA in Community and Youth Work from Newman University, with a dissertation exploring autism-specific youth work.
Research interests center on participatory action research, social justice, and inclusive practices. She is currently co-authoring a book chapter on resistance in youth work pedagogy and supervising research on Adverse Childhood Experiences. Contact: liz.woolley@sunderland.ac.uk.
