Liz Raleigh is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Chair of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University since 2012. Her research sits at the intersection of family studies, racial/ethnic dynamics, and market sociology.

Research Focus: Liz’s work critically examines how social institutions like families, markets, and racial hierarchies intersect. She has authored the book Selling Transracial Adoption: Families, Markets, and the Color Line, which explores the commodification of adoption across racial lines.
