Dr. Lise Zurné is a Lecturer at Erasmus University Rotterdam's Department of History, specializing in visual anthropology with research focuses on memory & heritage, gender, ethnography, war, and embodiment. She coordinates the MA Thesis Trajectory and teaches courses on cultural history, migration, and public history.
Her research examines how historical narratives are performed in reenactments, analyzing contested histories in Indonesia and Europe. Recent publications explore methodological challenges related to gender and ethnography. She co-founded ethnovision, a collective promoting visual methods in research, and co-chairs the Working Group Safety in the Field at the LOVA network.
