Lise Poissant

Lise Poissant is a Full Professor and Director of the Occupational Therapy Program at the School of Rehabilitation, part of the Faculty of Medicine at the Université de Montréal. She also serves as a Regular Researcher at the Montreal Metropolitan Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Research Centre (CRIR) and the Gingras-Lindsay Rehabilitation Institute. Her expertise spans rehabilitation care, health information technology, and quality-of-life measurement in vulnerable populations. She holds a BSc in Occupational Therapy from McGill University, an MSc in Health Administration from Université de Montréal, and a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from McGill University.

Her research focuses on optimizing rehabilitation services through technology integration, stroke and spinal injury care, and measuring quality-of-life outcomes. Notable projects include developing performance metrics for rehabilitation hospitals, evaluating telehealth adoption, and enhancing stroke care through communities of practice. She leads several grants funded by organizations such as the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQS) and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dr. Poissant has supervised multiple graduate students, including PhD candidate Diana Zidarov and Master’s graduates Isabelle David and Mariama Touré. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic research, emphasizing evidence-based strategies to improve patient-centered care and healthcare efficiency.
