Dr Lisa Reyes Mason is Professor at University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work, specializing in climate justice and community-based adaptation. She co-created the first US MSW pathway in Ecological Justice.
Her research examines climate vulnerability, policy advocacy, and community-led resilience strategies with emphasis on gender, poverty and racial equity. Mason employs mixed methods including policy mapping, community-based participatory research, and spatial analysis of environmental risks.
She co-edited 'People and Climate Change: Vulnerability, Adaptation, and Social Justice' and serves on Denver's Sustainability Advisory Council. Current projects investigate urban flooding equity and wildfire impacts on older adults.
