Lisa Pope serves as an Adjunct Instructor in Environment & Sustainability at Catawba College's Center for the Environment, bringing 25+ years of professional experience in Environmental and Outdoor Education. She holds dual leadership roles as Program Lead for K-12 Education and EnviroSmart Schools Coordinator.
Her research and practice focus on:

- K-12 teacher training in sustainability education
- Student certification pathways in environmental education
Lisa directs the EnviroSmart Schools Program which implements sustainability frameworks across school systems, and manages the Immersive Research Collaborative (IRC) - a networking platform for environmental research partnerships. She plays a key role in coordinating the National Environmental Summit and community outreach initiatives that extend environmental education beyond campus boundaries.
Within the academic program, she teaches in the Environment and Sustainability Bachelor of Science degree track and provides specialized guidance for students pursuing North Carolina Environmental Education Certification through the state Department of Environmental Quality. Her work bridges theoretical knowledge with practical implementation in school systems across the region.
