Lisa Micheelsen

Dr. Lisa Micheelsen is a Part-Time Lecturer in Classics at Concordia University of Edmonton and holds a half-time position in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Athabasca University. She teaches courses on Greek and Roman mythology, literature, and civilizations. Her research focuses on ancient philology, eschatology, thanatology, and critical approaches to gender and race in antiquity and classical scholarship.

Her work extends beyond academia, including archaeological contributions at a Mycenaean excavation on Paros, Greece, and consulting on Euripides’ Trojan Women for the Stratford Festival. At Athabasca University, she teaches online graduate courses, supervises student projects, and participates in PhD committees.

She is a member of the Classical Association of Canada and contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives such as the Masters of Integrated Studies Program.
