Alison Yacyshyn

Dr. Alison Yacyshyn is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Management, Concordia University of Edmonton. She holds a Masters in Sociology from the University of Alberta and a PhD in Sociology with a specialization in Demography from the University of Western Ontario. Since joining Concordia in 2016, she has played a pivotal role in launching Alberta’s only Data Management emphasis within the Bachelor of Management program and introduced a groundbreaking Business Demography course.

Dr. Yacyshyn’s research focuses on the intersection of demography, sociology, and management, with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making in business contexts. She has contributed extensively to academic literature and has bridged public and academic sectors through roles such as Senior Demographer for the Government of Alberta and Independent Research Consultant.

Her academic leadership includes serving as Dean of Management from April 2018 to July 2024 and chairing the Mihalcheon School of Management. Dr. Yacyshyn is currently on sabbatical.
