Lisa Crafts is a Lecturer in the Art, Culture, and Technology Program at MIT's School of Architecture and Planning. Her interdisciplinary work explores environmental uncertainty, sexuality, creativity, and chaos through animation, video, photography, drawing, painting, and sculpture. She is currently developing a series of short moving image pieces addressing the Anthropocene's complexities.
Her work has been exhibited across Europe, Asia, and North America. Notable recognitions include a 2012 Guggenheim Fellowship and grants from institutions like the Jerome Foundation and MacDowell Colony.
Courses taught include Animation (Spring 2021 and 2020). Her practice bridges visual media with conceptual inquiry, emphasizing the interplay between perception and imagination.
