Lisa Barnard is an Associate Professor in Photography and Head of the Masters Program in Documentary Photography at the University of South Wales. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Creative Industries and the Creative Industries Research and Innovation Group. Her research focuses on the intersection of photography with socio-political issues, environmental ethics, and economic systems. Barnard's work often explores themes like gold's cultural and economic significance, mining's ecological impact, and the role of technology in contemporary art.
