Linwood Randolph Jr.

Dr. Linwood Randolph Jr. (L.J. Randolph Jr.) is an Assistant Professor of World Language Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Education. His work centers on critical language education, emphasizing anti-racist and anti-colonial pedagogies, teaching Spanish to heritage and native speakers, and centering Blackness and Indigenousness in curricula.

Research Focus: Dr. Randolph explores inclusive, liberating language education for marginalized linguistic and racial groups. Key questions include the role of teacher identity and curriculum in justice-oriented pedagogies. His work advocates for equitable, transformative education through decolonized frameworks, as seen in his edited volume How We Take Action: Social Justice in PK-16 Language Classrooms and his blog Decolonize Language.
