Lingzhen Wang is a Professor of East Asian Studies at Brown University, specializing in modern Chinese literature and culture, women's cinema, critical theory, and transnational feminist studies. She received her PhD in East Asian Literature from Cornell University and B.A./M.A. from Nanjing University.
Research Interests
Her research focuses on women's liberation movements in Chinese revolutionary history, socialist feminism, and the intersection of gender, media, and cultural studies. She critically examines how Chinese female filmmakers and writers navigate institutional frameworks and global ideologies.
