Ling Cai, PhD, is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms driving castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) progression. She employs integrated biochemical, genomic, and cancer biology approaches to study transcription factors and chromatin regulators in CRPC development.
Dr. Cai received her PhD from UC San Diego and completed postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her work bridges basic science and translational research, aiming to develop novel therapeutic strategies for CRPC.
Recent publications highlight discoveries in chromatin structure regulation, targeted therapeutics, and epigenetic mechanisms in cancer. Key contributions include studies on phase separation in cancer development and the development of WDR5/IKZF1 degraders for leukemia treatment.
