About
Dr. Lindsy Boateng is Associate Professor of Biology and Chair of the Department of Biology, Neuroscience, and Exercise Science at Newberry College. She holds a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2015), an M.S. from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (2009), and a B.S. from the same institution (2005).
Her research investigates cellular mechanisms of cancer metastasis, specializing in actin-binding proteins and invadosomes—structures that enable cancer cell invasion through tissue degradation. She has expanded her work to study cell migration in C. elegans models during embryonic development. Current research examines molecular pathways facilitating cancer cell mobility and tissue infiltration.
Dr. Boateng teaches Genetics and Cell Biology courses, emphasizing scientific skill development. She prioritizes student mentorship and advocates for inclusive education strategies to support diverse learners.
