Lindsey Costantini is an Assistant Professor at North Carolina Central University in the School of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. She joined the university in 2018 and is currently teaching BIOL2030 02H for the Fall 2025 semester.
Dr. Costantini's research program focuses on several key areas in virology and molecular biology:
- Molecular & Cellular Biology
- Microscopy techniques
- Virology, particularly human herpesvirus
- Molecular interactions involved in viral DNA replication
- Cellular changes during viral reactivation from latent to lytic phases
As part of the HHMI Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) program, Dr. Costantini serves as Primary Instructor for a phage discovery course (BIOL2030 02H) using Arthrobacter globiformis as hosts, with 9 undergraduate students (8 freshmen and 1 sophomore) meeting twice weekly for 5 hours total.
Dr. Costantini is actively involved in the SEA community, participating in workshops and symposiums including the upcoming 2025 Phage Genomics Workshop (December 12-16, 2025) and the 2026 SEA Symposium (April 24-26, 2026).
