Linda Jeffery is an Honorary Research Fellow at the School of Psychological Science, The University of Western Australia (UWA). She has held various academic roles including Senior Lecturer (2019–present), ARC Postdoctoral Fellow (2007–2010), and Associate Investigator in the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders (2015–2018). Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) through insights into social cognition.
Education: PhD in Psychology (UWA, 2003), BA (Honours) in Psychology (UWA, 1989).
Her research focuses on face and body perception, individual differences in person perception skills, and how these mechanisms mature in children. Key interests include emotion perception, developmental psychology, and the implications for autism spectrum disorders. She explores how facial cues influence social judgments and behavior, with applications in legal and security contexts.
Her research has been supported by grants such as DP0770923 (2007–2010) examining adaptive coding in face perception development. She has supervised 9 students and published 77 works, including studies on autistic traits, social cognition, and neural sensitivity in children.
