Lily Swanson (she/her) is a graduate student and pre-doctoral instructor in the Department of English at the University of Washington. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Kansas (2022). Her work focuses on creative writing and critical theory, engaging with postmodernism, science fiction, and popular culture through a Marxist lens.

Swanson’s research interests explore intersections of literacy, cultural critique, and speculative fiction. She teaches undergraduate courses in creative writing and literature, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to textual analysis and composition.
As a pre-doctoral instructor, she is affiliated with the Creative Writing Suite at Padelford Hall and participates in outreach initiatives through the Department of English’s programs in Writing Across Campus and Rhetoric.
