Dr. Lily Chen is a Professor of Biology at San Francisco State University (SF State), serving since 1998. She holds leadership roles as Director of the Professional Science Master's (PSM) program in Biotechnology and Stem Cell Science and as Principal Investigator of an NSF-funded Science Master's program. Her research focuses on microbial pathogenesis, public health microbiology, and applied biotechnology, with emphasis on viral/bacterial disease mechanisms and drug resistance.
Education: B.S. in Medical Technology (National Taiwan University), M.S. and Ph.D. in Microbiology (SUNY Buffalo). Postdoctoral training at MIT's Whitehead Institute and UCSF's Gladstone Institute.
