Lijie Yu is a Lecturer in Finance at the Department of Accounting and Finance, Strathclyde Business School (University of Strathclyde), since January 2024. Previously, she held a Lecturer position at the University of Manchester. She obtained her PhD in Finance from the University of Manchester (2018–2023). Her research focuses on institutional investors, hedge funds, corporate governance, financial regulations, and ESG/CSR. She teaches postgraduate courses on Portfolio Theory Management and Equity Analysis.

Her recent publications analyze the Volcker Rule's effects on hedge fund performance and the role of advisor-hedge fund connections in M&A deal outcomes. She also serves as an external dissertation supervisor at the University of Manchester.
