Lieve van Hengel is a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, affiliated with the Language and Communication group. Her research focuses on combining Conversation Analysis and Citizen Science to address child vaccination challenges in Dutch vulnerable areas. She analyzes interactions with parents in low-vaccination communities and supports the formation of a Community of Practice for knowledge-sharing among community members, professionals, and parents.
She is involved in the course Health Communication and Social Media (2024–2025) and the research project Conversation Ambassadors in Action (2023–2026), which explores bottom-up vaccination communication strategies. No ancillary activities are reported.
