Lia Vidas is a Researcher at the Institute for Anthropological Research (Center for Applied Bioanthropology) in Croatia since 2021. Her work focuses on hunter-gatherer archaeology, with expertise in paleoproteomics, ZooMS analysis, and archaeozoology. She holds a PhD in Archaeology (2021), an MSc in Prehistoric Archaeology (2021), and a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology (2018), all from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.
Her research spans multidisciplinary studies of Late Pleistocene populations, including participation in international projects such as the iNEAL Cost Action and the PREHISTRIA project. She has conducted fieldwork across Croatia and internationally, leading excavations at Abri Kontija 002 and contributing to sites like Romualdova Cave and Breitenbach. Vidas has completed specialized training in zooarchaeology, CT imaging, and paleolithic archaeology through institutions like the University of Bologna and the University of Haifa.
She actively engages in scientific outreach, co-curating the 2024 exhibition on Istrian Palaeolithic research at the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb. Vidas is a member of the European Association of Archaeologists (EAA), Society for American Archaeology (SAA), and Italian Association of Archaeozoology (AIAZ).
