Leonora Onaran

Leonora Onaran is a Senior Lecturer in Family Law at Southampton Law School, University of Southampton. She holds qualifications as a Solicitor, LLB (Hons), MA (Education), and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her work focuses on legal education and the intersection of family law with state regulation.

Research Interests: Her research spans family law, children's rights, statutory accountability, trust law, and private client law. She has contributed to understanding legal frameworks in healthcare, child protection, and financial disputes.

Teaching: Leonora teaches modules LAWS 2027 (Family Law: Children, Parents and the State), LAWS 3160 (Family Law: State Regulation of Adults' Relationship Formation and Breakdown), and LAWS 1023/2037 (Legal Skills). These modules emphasize intellectual, practical, and transferable skills for law students.

Biography: After working as a solicitor, Leonora joined Southampton Law School in 2005 as a lecturer and Undergraduate Admissions Tutor. Promoted to Principal Teaching Fellow in 2012, she also serves as LLB Year 2 Coordinator and Senior Tutor for the Law School.
