Leon Wegner

Leon Wegner is a Professor in the Department of Civil Geological and Environmental Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan's College of Engineering. He holds a B.E. from the University of Saskatchewan, an M.A.Sc. from the Technical University of Nova Scotia, and a Ph.D. from MIT. His research focuses on structural engineering and materials, including fretting fatigue of bolted connections, structural health monitoring, cold weather masonry materials, composite materials mechanics, and cement-based materials. Current projects include developing antifreeze admixtures for subfreezing masonry construction and improving fatigue evaluation for potash mineshafts. He has openings for one PhD and two MSc students in industry-sponsored research on bolted steel connections.
