Leo Alexandre

Dr. Leo Alexandre serves as Consultant Clinical Associate Professor at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, and holds an Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist position at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals (NNUH). He maintains active affiliations with the Metabolic Health and Norwich Epidemiology Centre research groups.

Current investigations focus on early detection mechanisms and risk prediction models for gastrointestinal cancers.

Analysis of his 2022-2025 publications reveals consistent emphasis on upper gastrointestinal cancer epidemiology, particularly post-endoscopy cancers and Barrett's esophagus progression. His methodological approach predominantly employs systematic reviews and meta-analyses, with emerging work on opioid burden in pancreatic cancer demonstrating expanding scope into symptom management research. As deputy director of the Norwich Academic Foundation Programme and module co-lead for the year 1 MBBS Medical Research Module, Dr. Alexandre oversees clinical training and research education.
