Lei Yu

Lei Yu, Ph.D., is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Rowan University, part of the College of Science & Mathematics. His research focuses on electrochemistry, spectroscopy, and materials characterization, with emphasis on ionic liquids, nanomaterials, and energy storage systems.

Research Interests:
Dr. Yu’s work spans three major areas: (1) Ionic liquid-based electrolytes for batteries and fuel cells; (2) electrochemical synthesis and application of carbide-derived carbon; and (3) nanoparticle characterization in complex systems. He also develops biosensors and conductive polymers, leveraging advanced instruments like ICP-MS and FTIR.
