Leandro Sepulveda Ramirez

Dr. Leandro Sepulveda Ramirez is Associate Professor in Socioeconomic Development at Middlesex University's Centre for Enterprise, Environment and Development Research. With nearly twenty years of research experience, he specializes in migrant enterprises, social economies, and diversity in economic development.

Research Focus: His work examines how migrant and ethnic minority businesses navigate formal and informal economies, the impact of social enterprises on public service delivery, and the relationship between population diversity and urban economic growth. He employs interdisciplinary approaches bridging business studies, sociology, and economic geography.

His publications analyze organizational democracy in social enterprises, immigrant business strategies in transnational contexts, and diversity's role in urban creativity. Research spans multiple continents including UK, Europe, and Latin America.

Current teaching includes the module 'Enterprise and Small Business'. He has led projects funded by UK research councils, government departments, and the European Commission's Horizon 2020 program involving collaboration across nine Latin American and ten European universities.
