Lava Asaad

Lava Asaad is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Auburn University's College of Liberal Arts. She earned her PhD from Middle Tennessee State University and focuses on global Anglophone and British literature through interdisciplinary lenses.

Research Interests: Her work spans postcolonial theory, ecocriticism, and women/gender studies, examining textual representations of refugees, environmental narratives, and 20th-21st century British literature.

Publications: Authored a monograph on refugee corporeality (Routledge, 2019) and co-edited a volume on women's resistance discourse in the Global South (Rutgers University Press, 2022).
