Laura Reed is an Associate Professor and Director of Special Academic Programs at the UT Health Science Center College of Nursing. She joined the faculty in July 2014, teaching Advanced Health Assessment, FNP didactic/clinical courses, Advanced Role Development, and DNP project courses. Her research focuses on chronic disease management and APRN education with telehealth integration.

She actively participates in institutional committees like the College of Nursing All-Faculty and DNP Faculty committees, as well as the UT Health Science Center Faculty Senate.
Dr. Reed holds leadership roles in professional organizations including the Greater Memphis Area Advanced Practice Nurses (past president, current board member), Tennessee Nurses Association (former Practice Director), and Coalition for Access to Care for Tennessee (founding member, current Chair). She also contributes to the Tennessee Simulation Alliance, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (including their Telehealth Committee), North American Menopause Society, and Sigma Theta Tau.
