Laura Põld is a Visiting Associate Professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) in Tallinn, Estonia, specializing in installation and sculpture. Her interdisciplinary practice merges traditional crafts with posthuman and more-than-human thematic explorations. She holds degrees in ceramics (Estonian Academy of Arts), painting (University of Tartu), and sculptural conceptions (University of Art and Design, Linz).
Her research interests focus on redefining human-centric narratives through large-scale assemblages that challenge conventional art spaces. Recent exhibitions include Fibers in the Cave (Art Brussels, 2023), shelter –sanctuary (EKKM, 2023), and Art in the Age of the Anthropocene (Kumu Art Museum, 2023).
- Awards: Köler Prize Grand Prix (2016), Cultural Endowment of Estonia Grand Prize (2018), ISCP New York studio grant (2019), Claus Michaletz Preis (2021).
Her works are featured in prominent collections including the European Central Bank Art Collection and the Art Museum of Estonia. Põld divides her residency between Tallinn and Vienna.
