Laura O'Brien is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Bolton, affiliated with the School of Education & Psychology. She began her career as a Mental Health Nurse and transitioned into academia after completing her BSc (Hons) in Criminological and Forensic Psychology at the University of Bolton, where she now holds a permanent teaching position. She works closely with Bolton College as the Access Liaison Coordinator and prepares students for academic life through the Fast Track Programme.
Her research focuses on resilience and grit development in educators, exploring how kinesthetic learning, creative assessment methods, and conference-style pedagogy can foster professional growth. Her Masters thesis, titled 'Growing Gritty Educators,' investigates the intersection of innate resilience and teachable coping strategies for educators.
