Laura Main

Laura Main is a Senior Lecturer at University College Birmingham teaching childcare courses from entry-level to Level 4. With extensive experience as an early years practitioner and nursery supervisor, she integrates practical knowledge into modules on child development, safeguarding, and reflective practice.

Her research focuses on post-16 education needs, assessment methodologies for childcare students, and translating early years theory into practice. Current work examines T-level program effectiveness and legislative impacts on childcare education.
