Laura Iannuzzi

Dr. Laura Iannuzzi is a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery at Bournemouth University, serving as NIPE Lead, Examination of the Newborn (EXON) CPD joint course lead, Clinical Skills Lead, and Race Equality Network Co-chair. She holds a PhD in Health Studies from the University of Nottingham (2011–2014), alongside PgCert Ed., MSc, PgCertClinOrg, BMid, RM, and FHEA qualifications. Her career spans over two decades in midwifery, including roles as Midwife Leader at Careggi University Hospital (2004–2019) and clinical practice specializing in high-risk and low-risk pregnancies. Her research focuses on childbirth environments, maternal-newborn care quality, pandemic response, and global health interventions. She has contributed to national guidelines on Chagas disease screening and led studies on oxytocin use, birth space design, and midwifery volunteering during crises.
