Laura Gutierrez

Laura Gutierrez is an Associate Professor and Department Chair at the University of the Pacific, specializing in History. She earned her PhD from the University of California, San Diego (2016), MA from Stanford (2010), and BA from the University of Southern California (2007).

• Teaching focuses on primary sources and critical analysis in courses on Mexico, Latin America, and migration
• Research examines historical impacts of deportation and return migration on Northern Mexican communities
