Dr. Laura Gray is a Professor in the Department of English & Humanities at Rogers State University (RSU), holding tenure since 2007. She earned a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from Texas Woman’s University, an M.A. in English from the University of North Texas, and a B.A. in Political Science from Louisiana Tech University. Her research focuses on Composition/Rhetoric, Historical/Social Movements Literature, and Technology in Pedagogy, with emphasis on feminist perspectives and protest discourses.
Her teaching spans courses like American Literature, British Literature, and Honors Seminars. She has received multiple awards, including RSU's Excellence in Teaching Award (2012-2013) and TWU’s J. Dean Bishop Teaching Award (1998-1999). Her scholarly contributions include co-authoring The Everyday Writer (2013) and publishing on topics like fantasy media pedagogy and rhetorical analysis of protest essays.
Gray has actively served on over 20 university committees, including Chair roles in Curriculum and Academic Integrity. She has presented widely on rhetoric, technology in education, and feminist activism at conferences such as the Rhetoric Society of America and College English Association. Her forthcoming book Defiance and Decorum explores women's public rhetoric in activism.
