Laura Edgar is a Reader in Law at Queen Mary University of London’s Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). She serves as Director of Taught Programmes at CCLS, Director of the Distance Learning Programme in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law, and Director of the Paris LLM in the same field. Her teaching includes courses on AI, Robotics and the Law, Media Law on the London LLM, and E-commerce Law, Protection of Computer Software, and Taxation and E-commerce on the Distance Learning LLM programme.
Education: Laura holds an LLB (Aberd) from Aberystwyth University.
Her research interests include electronic commerce, digital payments systems, taxation, jurisdiction, intellectual property, and legal issues affecting virtual enterprises. She has published extensively on topics such as the taxation challenges of e-commerce, legal frameworks for e-finance, and international taxation in the digital economy. Her work bridges technology, law, and global regulatory challenges.
Laura is a member of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law Institute, contributing to interdisciplinary research in these areas.
