Lars Christie is an Associate Professor at the University of Inland Norway, affiliated with the Department of Law within the Inland School of Business and Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from Oslo University (2016) and a Master’s from Columbia University (2005). His research focuses on moral philosophy, particularly ethics of war, individual self-defense, distributive justice, and punishment. He is currently involved in the project Red Lines and Grey Zones: Exploring the Ethics of Humanitarian Negotiation. Prior roles include research fellowships at the Oxford Institute of Ethics and Armed Conflict and the European University Institute under the ERC project Individualisation of War, alongside diplomatic and policy roles in Norway. Christie recently secured a three-year grant from the Norwegian Research Council to study priority-setting in global humanitarian aid.
