Larry Marrs

Larry Marrs is an Instructor of Multimedia Studies at Concord University, where he teaches and supports campus video projects. He holds a BA in Communications with a Broadcast Journalism emphasis from Concord University (2003). His career spans roles as a creative services director, video production business owner, and award-winning news photographer at WVNS.

His professional focus includes videography, news photography, and multimedia production. Marrs has won 4 Best News Photographer awards from WVBA, 8 awards from Virginias AP Broadcasters, and 2 Emmy nominations.

After 10 years in broadcast, he transitioned to academia, leveraging 20+ years of industry experience. His work includes documenting critical events like the 2006 Bluefield power outage, which showcased his field reporting skills.
