Larry Bench

Dr. Larry Bench is Assistant Professor Lecturer in the Department of Sociology & Criminology at University of Utah, with over 30 years of criminal justice research experience.

Education includes:

• Undergraduate degrees in Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology
• MA and PhD in Sociology (Criminology emphasis)

Research examines cognitive behavioral interventions, domestic violence patterns, and evidence-based rehabilitation programs. Current work directs the Sexual Reproductive Health Project for incarcerated women at Utah State Prison.

Teaching spans sociology, public administration and social work departments, including courses on criminology, juvenile delinquency, and corrections systems.

Consultancy informs criminal justice policy for National Institute of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, and state/local governments.
