Lansing McLoskey

Lansing McLoskey is a Professor of Music Composition at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition (1989) and has received over three dozen national and international awards, including recognition from the American Academy of Arts & Letters and the Copland House Award. His works have been performed internationally, with highlights including a Carnegie Hall premiere in 2018 and upcoming commissions for Guerilla Opera (Boston), Boston Choral Ensemble, and Kammerkoret NOVA (Oslo).

Research interests center on contemporary composition, blending experimental techniques with traditional forms. Recent projects emphasize operatic and choral works, reflecting a fusion of populist styles with blues influences. His music is described as 'chaotic yet exuberant,' balancing technical precision with emotional depth.
