Dr. Lance Fiondella is Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the Cybersecurity Center at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He holds PhD (UConn) and MS (UConn) in Computer Science, and BS (Eastern Connecticut State).
His research in software/system reliability and resilience engineering has produced 150+ publications. As Director of NSA/DHS-designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research, he leads cybersecurity education and research initiatives.
Funded projects include $1.2M NSF CyberCorps Scholarship program and ONR grants for resilient ML systems. His work develops quantitative methods for reliability assessment of autonomous systems, network vulnerability, and cybersecurity.
He maintains collaborations with Army Research Lab, NAVAIR, and Army Corps of Engineers. Recent publications focus on adaptive AI for intrusion detection and resilience modeling.
