Kymara Sneed

Dr. Kymara Sneed is an Assistant Professor at the Mississippi University for Women, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences and the Department of History, Political Science, and Geography. She teaches Modern U.S. History, Southern History, African-American History, Public History, Agricultural History, and Women’s History, with research focusing on African-American History, Southern History, and Agricultural History.

• B.A. in History with a Minor in Political Science from Fort Valley State University
• M.A. in History with a Certificate in Museum Studies from The University of West Georgia
• Ph.D. in History from Mississippi State University

Her dissertation, “Mississippi Mud: Race, Agriculture, and Disharmony in the Era of Civil Rights”, highlights her interdisciplinary focus on race, agriculture, and social conflict in the U.S. South. Contact her at kdsneed@muw.edu.
