Kylea Shoemaker serves as an Instructor of Psychology at The Teachers College, Emporia State University, where she joined the faculty in 2018. Her empirical work examines adolescent perspectives on sexual health sources, parental engagement barriers in education, paternal communication patterns regarding sexual health, and high-fidelity simulation efficacy in nurse practitioner training.
She serves as a primary advisor for school psychology graduate students while teaching undergraduate developmental psychology courses for education majors and graduate-level school psychology curriculum. During her doctoral studies, she contributed to W.O.W. (a collaborative research group) focused on study design refinement, manuscript development, and qualitative analysis protocols.
