Kyle R.L. Parsons is a Lecturer in Biblical Studies at the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Trinity Western University. He is currently completing a PhD in Religious Studies at Charles University (Prague), focusing on Social Memory Theory and Early Christian traditions surrounding Judas Iscariot. His academic journey includes an MA in Biblical Studies from Trinity Western University (2016) and a BA (Hons.) in Systematic Theology from Nipawin Bible College (2007).
His research applies Social Memory Theory to early Christian and Jewish texts, notably exploring how collective identity is shaped through memory and forgetting. Key areas include Genesis 1’s cultural memory, Judas Iscariot’s legacy in early Christian traditions, and pseudepigraphal writings like Colossians. He has presented at major conferences such as the Society of Biblical Literature and the European Association of Biblical Studies.
Parsons has been awarded a Doctoral Project Grant (2019–2021) from Charles University’s Grant Agency. His publications include analyses of resurrection theology in Colossians and scriptural interpretation in the Gospel of John. Beyond academia, he enjoys family life and sports, reflecting a balance between scholarly rigor and personal passions.
