Kurt Stresau

Kurt Stresau is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Design Director at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Since joining UCF in 2013, he coordinates the Senior Design capstone program, managing over 100 senior projects annually. His role focuses on engineering education and design mentorship.

• Bachelor’s in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
• Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from University of Florida
• Master’s in Space Systems from Florida Institute of Technology
• Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Central Florida

His research interests emphasize Engineering Design and Engineering Education, aligning with his leadership in the Senior Design program. Under his guidance, students have achieved recognition in national competitions, including NASA-sponsored events and human-powered vehicle challenges.

Before his faculty role at UCF, Stresau spent 11 years in industry as an engineer for United Space Alliance (working on Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Boosters) and served as an adjunct faculty member at Eastern Florida State College for seven years.
