Kurt Krogull

Kurt Krogull is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Jack Lockton Certificate in Insurance and Risk Management Program at the University of Kansas School of Business. With over 25 years of industry experience in the reinsurance sector, including senior controllership roles at major firms like Swiss Re, Krogull bridges practical expertise with academic instruction to prepare students for careers in insurance and risk management.

• Education: MAcc from University of Kansas, BS in Accounting and Finance from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; Certified Public Accountant (CPA), State of Illinois.

Krogull’s research interests focus on insurance industry dynamics, risk management strategies, and financial reporting frameworks. His work emphasizes the societal importance of insurance and equipping students with technical and analytical skills. Prior to academia, he held leadership roles in financial operations and large-scale transactions at firms like Kemper Reinsurance, GE Re, and Employers Reinsurance.
