Kristen M Cook

Kristen M Cook serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science within the College of Pharmacy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She also holds the position of Director of Campus Culture at UNMC.

Research Focus: Dr. Cook's research activities center around improving healthcare access for underserved populations. As a member of the Faculty Advisory Board and provider for the SHARING clinics at UNMC (a multidisciplinary student-run clinic for the underserved), she focuses on medication access in underserved communities, dementia care, interdisciplinary care models, and pharmacy education. She also precepts students at a local tuberculosis clinic serving underserved populations.

Clinical Practice: Dr. Cook practices in ambulatory care at the UNMC Midtown Clinic in Omaha, NE, with a primary focus on geriatrics, particularly emphasizing interdisciplinary care teams for dementia patients. Her clinical expertise also extends to anticoagulation management, diabetes care, and cardiology.

Teaching: She teaches throughout pharmacotherapy courses covering topics including anemia, sleep disorders, anxiety, and tuberculosis. Dr. Cook precepts fourth-year pharmacy students during ambulatory care clerkships at the UNMC Midtown Clinic and coordinates a Teaching Certificate Program for pharmacy practice residents in the Omaha area.
