Krista Svalbonas

Krista Svalbonas is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Art and Art History. Her artistic practice spans photography and interdisciplinary studies, with works exhibited internationally at institutions like the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, Howard Yezerski Gallery, and Klompching Gallery.

Svalbonas explores themes of displacement and cultural memory through her Displacement series, showcased in solo exhibitions across Europe in 2022, including the Copenhagen Photography Festival and Museum of Photography in Tallinn. Her work resides in prestigious collections such as the Cesis Art Museum (Latvia) and Woodmere Art Museum (Philadelphia).
